The “Eleftherios K. Venizelos” Foundation and its American Branch Mourn the Passing of Andreas Eliopoulos
The National Research and Studies Foundation “Eleftherios K. Venizelos” and its American Branch express their deep sorrow for the passing of Andreas
Eliopoulos, Treasurer of the American Branch, originally from Ambelaki, Arcadia.
Andreas Eliopoulos was a founding member of the American Branch and faithfully served as its Treasurer since its establishment. Tireless until the very
end, humble and selfless, and deeply committed to service, he played a decisive role in the organization, stability, and continued growth of the Branch.
A distinguished and active member of the broader Greek-American community in Chicago and Florida, he offered valuable service to the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Community of Chicago, AHEPA, the Brotherhood of Arcadians of Asea “Demovaltestiotes,” the Pan-Cretan Association of America, the Cretan Association of Chicago “Amalthia,” and the Hellenic Produce Association.
His kindness, gentle demeanor, integrity, and warm smile will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
The Foundation and its American Branch extend their heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife, Katerina Eliopoulos (née Vlamaki), his children Elias, Minos, Peter, and Maria, his grandchildren, his extended family and loved ones, as well as his fellow villagers, as he proudly referred to them, from Almyrida, Chania.
May his memory be eternal.
