The Pancretan Association of America, in coordination with all chapters, has presented a series of events dedicated to the splendor of our culture and heritage. These events have included live theater, concerts, stand up comedy, presentations on Erotokritos, Kazantzakis, and on the history of the Church of Crete, just to name a few.

We continue to connect generations, the "protopouri", with their origins and to inspire younger generations to keep the Cretan traditions alive in their daily lives.

The Gift of Rizitika

We are thrilled to offer all of our members, thanks to the support of the Pancretan Cultural Program, this free download of Rizitika songs from the Rizitiki Parea tou Agiou Styllianos. Rizitika songs have a way of uniting the parea. Everyone participates and contributes equally. They are sung at every occasion and can express appreciation for nature, love, war, or even give a compliment to the parea that is singing the songs. Rizitika have been a part of the culture of Crete for centuries and have been passed from generation to generation. Specials thanks to PAA First VP John Marakis for bringing this project to us, to the singers from the Rizitiki Parea tou Agiou Styllianos and the PAA Cultural Fund. Enjoy!

Το ριζίτικο " Κάστρο και που ΄ναι οι πύργοι σου " αποδίδει ο ΛΙΟΝΑΚΗΣ ΣΤΥΛΙΑΝΟΣ με καταγωγή τις ΣΤΕΡΝΕΣ Ακρωτηρίου.

Το ριζίτικο " Άστραψε και σκοτείνιασε " αποδίδει ο ΜΑΡΑΚΗΣ ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ με καταγωγή τα ΜΥΡΙΟΚΕΦΑΛΑ Ρεθύμνου.

Το ριζίτικο " Γροικάτε ήντα παράγγειλε η Κρήτη των παιδιών τζη" αποδίδει ο ΜΠΟΥΡΔΑΚΗΣ ΔΙΟΝΥΣΙΟΣ με καταγωγή τα ΝΕΡΙΑΝΑ Κυδωνίας.

Το ριζίτικο " Ο Κωσταντής στη Φυλακή " αποδίδει ο ΤΣΟΥΤΗΣ ΘΕΟΔΩΡΟΣ με καταγωγή το ΚΑΡΠΕΝΗΣΙ Ευρυτανίας.
