The World Council of Cretans, founded in 2003, aims to defend and preserve the history and cultural traditions of Crete and Greece, passing them on to younger generations and the communities where Cretans live and work worldwide. Its members include the Pancretan Association of America, the Cretan Federation of Australia and New Zealand, the Pancretan Federation of Europe, the Pancretan Union of Athens, the Pancretan Brotherhood of Macedonia, the Cretan Brotherhood of Piraeus 'Omonoia,' and the Pancretan Union of South Africa.

PAA Executive Vice President Nickos Kastrinakis currently serves as the President of the World Council of Cretans. Nickos recently visited the members of the Cretan Federation of Australia and New Zealand. Click on the video and enjoy their greetings from their continent to all of you!

National Research Foundation "Eleftherios K. Venizelos"

The Venizelos Foundation USA seeks to achieve its mission through activities such as:
• Organizing educational programs, writing informative periodicals, and producing audiovisual material
• Collaborating on research with US universities, as well as with the sister organization, National Research Foundation “Eleftherios K. Venizelos”, located in Chania, Crete, the birthplace of the great statesman.
• Assisting in compiling the writings of Eleftherios Venizelos and promoting the publishing of his works
• Awarding prizes for literary works covering relevant areas of interest
• Awarding grants for pertinent University-level research
• Organizing conferences, exhibitions, and lectures in the United States

The Venizelos Foundation USA operates with its sister organization, the National Research Foundation “Eleftherios K. Venizelos." The Venizelos Foundation USA seeks to further its Greek counterpart’s mission in the United States. PAA Executive Vice President Nickos Kastrinakis currently serves as President of the Venizelos Foundation USA.

Recent Events:

The inauguration of the monument and the unveiling of the bust of Eleftherios Venizelos at
the Greek Embassy in the Brazilian capital, Brasília, took place on Wednesday, November
26, 2025, in the presence of many members of the Greek diaspora. The project was funded
by the Hellenic Parliament and completed under the care and supervision of the National
Research Foundation “Eleftherios K. Venizelos.” The initiative for the installation of the bust
belonged to Ambassador Ioannis Tzovas-Mourouzis. The unveiling was performed by the
ambassador, the President of the Greece–Brazil Friendship Group of the Hellenic
Parliament Theodoros Karaoglou, the President of the Venizelos Foundation USA and
President of the World Council of Cretans Nickos Kastrinakis, and the President of the
Greek Community of Brasília Konstantinos Bokos.
